What happens when you die?

That question is the most important question any person will ever face.

Jesus Christ did not come merely to make bad people better. He came to bring spiritually dead people into eternal life. He came to save sinners, forgive sin, reconcile people to God, deliver souls from eternal judgment, and open the way to Heaven.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10

Jesus Christ is not one option among many. He is the only Savior. He is the only way to the Father. He is the only door to eternal life. He is the only One who died for your sins, shed His blood, rose from the dead, conquered death, and offers salvation to all who believe.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” — Acts 4:12

Heaven is where God’s people will live forever in His presence. There will be no sin, no death, no curse, no sickness, no grief, no separation, no darkness, and no fear.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” — Revelation 21:4

Think about that.

No more funerals.

No more disease.

No more betrayal.

No more depression.

No more temptation.

No more spiritual warfare.

No more broken homes.

No more unanswered questions.

No more pain in the body.

No more heaviness in the soul.

No more distance from God.

Heaven is not merely escaping Hell. Heaven is being with the Lord forever. Heaven is eternal life in the presence of God. Heaven is fullness of joy, perfect holiness, perfect love, perfect peace, and endless worship before the King of kings and Lord of lords.

The greatest benefit of Heaven is not streets of gold. The greatest benefit of Heaven is God Himself.

To spend eternity with God is to live forever in His light, His love, His glory, His truth, and His presence. The redeemed will glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

Hell Is Real, Serious, And Eternal

A loving warning is still love.

Hell is not a popular subject, but Jesus warned about Hell because He loves people enough to tell the truth. Hell is not a joke, not a scare tactic, and not a symbolic inconvenience. Hell is eternal separation from God under judgment.

The Bible says:

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” — Revelation 20:15

Jesus also said:

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” — Matthew 25:46

Hell is the final outcome of rejecting God’s salvation through Jesus Christ. It is not God’s desire for you. God does not delight in your destruction. God has made a way for you to be saved.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” — 2 Peter 3:9

Do not say, “I can never be forgiven,” when God says forgiveness is available through Christ. Do not say, “I am hopeless,” when God says eternal life is in His Son.

Agree with God’s Word. Believe it. Speak it. Live it.
